Amazon can be a great resource to find items that you may need for your next Disney vacation, but you may already have some of these in your house or be able to find them at the thrift store. I have included links for each of my top finds for Disney World for your convenience to see the item, and to purchase if you like. These are just to help you out, as I do not receive anything back if you click on the links. I hope this is helpful. Keep reading for my Amazon finds for Disney.
Personal Fan
Whether you prefer a paper fan, a handheld electric fan, or a hands free neck fan, a fan is a great investment to bring to Disney. It can get quite hot, especially in the summer as you stand in line. Slinky Dog Dash is infamous for it’s long wait times and outdoor queue. There are also options with bendy legs that you can attach to a stroller.
Autograph Book
When you meet characters you may want to get an autograph. This is a fun keepsake as each character really puts their own flair on their signature. A way to make it even more special is by using a book that you can read over and over again. For kids a great option is a My First Picture Dictionary. You can have each character sign next to their picture. For adults I love this Everything I Need to Know I Learned from a Disney Golden Book. I actually have one that I am starting to fill up. Don’t forget to pick up a big sharpie for characters to use too.
Hydration
I really do not like the taste of Florida water. While you can get filtered water from any counter service restaurant, they can often have long lines. If this happens, check around the edges of the counters, sometime they have a tray of pre-filled water cups. Another solution is to have a Brita filter water bottle so you can fill up at a sink or water fountain. I like this one because it is insulated too, so you can throw cold water or even ice cubes into it to keep it cold for a long time. Carry it around in a handy water bottle sling to remind yourself to drink a lot and stay hydrated. It is also a good idea to pack some Hydralyte to ensure you can replace your electrolytes throughout the day. Nobody likes to wake up to a dehydration headache, especially at Disney.
Activities
This is especially important if you have little kids that have a hard time waiting. You will probably be waiting in line a lot, and while some rides like Winnie the Pooh or Peter Pan’s Flight have some fun activities, many rides do not. Bring along some easy activities like this Melissa and Doug Road Trip Dry Erase Activity Book or this Mickey Mad Libs Book to do in lines. Let me know in the comments if you want me to post my favourite waiting games in another post. They can really help kids and prevent melt downs due to boredom or discomfort in many situations!
Another great idea to help adults or kids who are sensitive to noise are ear plugs. These over the ear protectors are great for little ones who get over stimulated by noise. From fireworks, to loud ride music, to lots of talking, it can get quite loud, so be prepared to help block out the noise. These Loop earplugs are my personal favourite and the ones I recommend for older kids or adults. They don’t fully block out noise, but they bring the volume way down.
Disney Outfits
I love to buy a great Disney t-shirt or bag, but they can get so expensive, especially if you have kids. An easy DIY approach to Disney clothes is to use patches. Stay tuned for my future post about how I DIY Disney clothes, but in the mean time, grab some patches like this Mickey and Minnie Patch or this Minnie Patch and a belt bag and use your iron or super glue to attach it. So easy and cute and costs quite a bit less than a bag in the parks. You can also add patches to T shirts, jeans, backpacks, practically anything. This also allows you to choose your own colour scheme or make matching outfits for your whole crew.
Cleaning Stuff
I know that it is the most magical place on earth, but inevitably you will need to clean something on your Disney trip. My most recent trip my new Disney shirt in deep purple tye dyed my entire body and outfit after I got caught in a downpour. This taught me two things, one, always bring laundry soap with me to Disney, and two, always wash new Disney shirts before you wear them! My white sneakers still have a tinge of purple. This laundry bar is a great choice for washing some small items in the sink like your white shirt that you spilled on. For a bigger load you could bring some travel sized tide, a few tide pods, or fill up one of these little bottles with your choice of laundry soap.
These bottles are also perfect to bring some dish soap to wash out refillable resort mugs. Cut a cheap sponge into two or four pieces to have the perfect sized travel sponge. You can also pack a dish soap bar to reduce liquids if you are packing carry on only. In the parks I always pack antibacterial wipes. These are perfect to wipe up spills, clean a table, clean hands before you eat.
Bags
Bags deserves its own section because there are so many handy bags and so many uses for them. Ziploc bags are one of my top bag choices. They double as wet bags, snack bags, pin bags, dirty clothes bags, sticky things bags etc. I always carry a few of all three sizes on my trips. Fold up shopping bags are also very handy to carry park purchases, extra clothes, or all those extra souvenirs that don’t fit in your suit case. They can even be a laundry bag or a lunch bag. Here is a set that fold up, and here are some Disney themed tote bags.
In this section I am also adding a shoe organizer. This is perfect to hang on the bathroom door in the hotel to hold all the little things that tend to get lost or messy like sunscreen, buttons or pins, hair ties, small snacks, and sunglasses.
Sun Protection
If you are traveling carry on only, liquids can be a pain to pack. This sunscreen stick is a great solution to stay safe and cut down on liquid. A cute sun hat is also a great addition to a park bag and this one can be bent or folded up and not get destroyed.
Other Amazon Finds for Disney
This is my category for things that did not fit into a category. This luggage strap is perfect to attache ears to a backpack to prevent them getting crushed when you need a break from wearing them. Just make sure it is tightened enough that the ear cant go through the strap. A Mommy Hook is the perfect hook to attach to a backpack or stroller to clip bags or water bottles on. I use mine all the time to hang up my bag or attach grocery bags to it.
A travel blanket is my last Amazon find for Disney and a very versatile item to take with you. This is the one I have, but honestly any blanket you like will work great. It is useful as a blanket to sit on the ground for parades or a picnic lunch, as a sunshade for a stroller, to cuddle up if it gets cold after the sun goes down, or as a towel if it rains. Keep it in a large ziploc bag to stay dry.
If you are headed to a Disney Park, these items can help make your trip smoother. If you love Disney content, you might like learning about fun Disney things to do in NYC or reading about my Disney Packing list.
